Should You Split Eights?Yes. Every time. ReasoningAlmost all basic strategy assumptions begin with the premise that you'll be dealt a ten when you take a hit. By splitting eights, you take a stiff hand (soft 16), and turn it into two potential eighteen's. It's always better to play two potentially good hands with no chance of busting than it is to play one tough hand that isn't likely to win and is likely to bust.
